Diaphragm

regulates/controls the amount of light

Body Tube

located between the eyepiece and the nosepiece, separates the lenses

Stage

slide goes here, where the performance takes place

Stage Clips

holds the slide in place on the stage

High Power objective

(blue) magnifies about 40X found on the nosepiece

Middle Power Objective

(yellow) magnifies about 10X found on the nosepiece

Low power objective

(red) magnifies about 4X found on the nosepiece

Base

bottom of the microscope, used to carry the microscope

Light Source

gives us light to enable us to see the specimen on the slide

Arm

used in order to carry the microscope

Coarse Adjustment Knob

moves the stage a lot, used first when viewing the slide. **NOT used when in high power

Fine Adjustment Knob

moves the stage a little, used to see details. When using high power this is the only knob used

Eyepiece

used to view an object under the microscope, has a power of 10X

Holds and rotates the objectives
