What is a light wave?
Light waves are transverse waves created by the metric and magnetic fields oscillating from high to low
What are electromagnetic waves
light that includes radio, microwave, infrared, ultraviolet, and X rays
What is unpolarized light?
Light from natural sources (sun) and most artificial sources like light bulbs is oriented in all different directions

What is polarized light?
Polarized light is where the light waves are all oriented in a single plane

Higher frequency means…
Smaller wavelength
Closer to Violet
Lower frequency means…
Longer wavelength
Closer to red
Brightness
Determined by the wave’s amplitude
Higher amplitude= brighter light

Interference within Sound Waves
This is when waves overlap each other
Creates a resultant wave with a different amplitude from the OG. For sound waves, it changes into a louder or quieter sound.
Interference between Light Waves
Makes light smaller (narrow)
Dropper Effect
What happened when the source of wave is moving.
Moving away, longer wave length. Lower frequency
Moving towards you, shorter wavelength, higher frequency
Dropper Effect for Light
Changing the frequency of the light will change (shift) its color.
Blue shifted in Color
Moving towards you, higher frequency
Red shifted
Moving away from you, lower frequency
