When population shows changes what is going on?
It shows evolution.
What are some things that causes a population to change?
Mutation, migration (gene flow), randomness (genetic drift), nonrandom mating, and natural selection.
Directional Selection is?
Shift in more than one direction to the extreme (More ___ is always better).
Stabilizing Selection is?
Shift to the average of a trait (Not too much ___, but not too little).
Disruptive Selection is?
Shift to both extremes.
Mutations can be?
Beneficial, neutral, and harmful.
Gene Flow is?
Changes in the genetics of a population due to migration
Genetic Drift is?
Changes in a small population due to random chance
Founder Effect is?
Newly made population happens to have different allele frequencies than original population.
Bottleneck Effect is?
Survivors of a catastrophe event have different allele frequencies than the original population.
Who choses the mate?
The female and choses base on appearances and behavior.
