Networking
Interconnected computing devices that can exchange data and share resources with each other.
OSI Model
A 7-layer model that standardizes the functions of a telecommunication or computing system.
Bit Rate
The number of bits transmitted or received per second.
Channel Bandwidth
The capacity of the channel, measured in Hz or bit rate.
Packet Rate
The number of packets transmitted or received per second.
Bit Error Rate (BER)
The number of erroneous bits divided by the total number of bits.
Pixel
The smallest unit of a digital image or graphic that can be displayed and edited on a digital display device.
Frame Rate
The rate at which frames are presented, measured in frames per second (fps).
Compression Ratio
The ratio of the original file size to the compressed file size.
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)
A technology that allows voice communication over the internet using standard Internet Protocol.
