What is worship and why is it important
it is acts of religious praise, honour of devotion to god like prayer, reading the bible, baptism
This is important as it shows devotion to god as you are spending time with him.
It is also thanking god for all he has done
this is important as it is also an opportunity to ask for forgiveness through prayer

It is a church service that follows a set structure
important as people can receive forgiveness from god through actions of the priest

Also important as people can receive the living presence of Jesus through holy communion

What is non-liturgical worship, how is it practiced and why is it important
It is a more informal style of worship in which is different each service and leader has free choice of readings
Practice: will be less structured and more charismatic, usually centred on bible readings - important as without set words people feel it comes more from the heart (feel closer to god)
Practice: people can worship more freely - important as more of an emotional impact with a feeling of personal revelation from god

What are sacraments

believe god imports gifts through sacraments - so Roman Catholic Church do all. 7 as all were done by Jesus so view them as important to follow his example

What is Christmas
The celebration of Jesusâ birth
important as it reminds Christianâs Jesus was god incarnate and it was apart of gods plan so Christianâs will attend a midnight service where carols are sung to celebrate
Important as its a time of giving to symbolise the love that god showed and a time to think about poor to show compassion - so Christianâs will give gifts and religious cards but churches will set up shelters for those who need it to host meals.

important as Christianâs remember that death can be conquered and there is a promise of an after life as Jesusâ resurection proved it to be possible - give chocolate eggs to symbolise the new life and beginning after his Resurection
Important as Christianâs remember gos omnibenevolence as he sacrificed his son so huamsn could be saved from sin - so will go to church to pray and thank god and Jesus for the sacrifice as it abolished original sin and death

A journey made by a religious person to a holy place, alone or with others
believe it is a physical but also a spiritual journey as believes it brings u closer to god and strengthens faith - shows devotion to him

What is Lourdes
Christianâs believe a girl, Bernadette had visions of the Virgin Mary who told her to dig up a spring of water which claimed to have healing properties - influences Christianâs to go to Iona and bathe in holy water to be healed spiritually and physically
Believe it will bring them closer to god and Jesus so will go to visit the grotto where Mary appeared and worship with other Christianâs

Street pastors - what are they and why are they important
They are Christianâs who volunteer to care for physical and spiritual needs of people - they will be present in big cities late at night to help vulnerable
believe that volunteering as a street pastor will help fuful their Christian duty of putting their faith into action - so will carry water, flip flops, first aid equipment to help those who need it no matter who they are (preventing injustice as god teaches)

Believe it is the spreading of the gospel by public preaching and is important to spread the word of god to show devotion to faith

What is a mission and why is it important
believed to be A vacation/calling of a religious group to go and spread faith and important as Jesus told disciples to make ddcples of all nations and spread faith so should follow example

Practiced: church army- organisation committed to helping people find faith like vulnerable people.
Serving in a mission: send missionaries to different countries where Christianity is vulnerable

The hostility/ ill treatment of people because of their race, religious beliefs, sexuality.
believe its important to stop it as Christianâs have a duty to help those in need as we are all made equally in gods image so should treat everyone fairly

An immediate response to a disaster/ provides help immediately by giving shelter, food, water, medicine
Christian aid: gives emergency aid i response to disasters and campaigns for justice which itâs important as god doesnt stand for injustice and following Jesusâ example by helping others
during Christian aid week envelopes are sent to encourage people to give what they can
What is short term aid?
Provides help when families need reuniting, homes need to be rebuilt and to put children back in school
What is long term aid?
Help defeat the cause of the problem and help communities become self-sufficient and stop relying on other aids by training medical workers and setting up education

Work to support refugees by raising money through fund raising and people volunteer to help.
Main focus is long term aid: set up educational projects to put cildren in education and set up framing projects to ensure refugees have food and trains them how to frarm
Emergency aid: provide shelter (tents), hygiene kits, food and clean water for refuges

A charity set up to help people across the world in need - provide food, water and education - works through churches
Main focus is long term aid: supports schools so children can be in education - ESPECIALLY GIRLS SO DONT ENTER SEX TRADE, teaches farming skills so people dont have to rely on food banks, funds clinics for healthcare and toilets.
