• sensory: taste from anterior 2/3 of tongue

• sensory: cochlea (hearing), vestibular (balance)

Vestibulocochlear

• sensory: taste posterior 1/3 of tongue, pharynx

• motor: stylopharyngeus muscle (swallowing)

• parasympathetic: parotid gland

Glossopharyngeal

• motor: muscle of pharynx, larynx, soft palate

• sensory: thoracic, abdominal organs

• parasympathetic: heart, lungs, GI tract

Vagus

• motor: sternocleidomastoid (head rotation), trapezius (shoulder elevators)
