how do you work in a team
-communicate effectively and actively listening
tell me about a time you work in a team
in circuits lab when circuits go wrong even though on paper they are perfect. components and equipment is finicky old and sensitive to noise. its important not to get hot headed or lose your temper. you should communicate effectively, brainstorm, and troublshoot. we see teams that do shut down and stop communicating just because it can get so frustrating.
demonstrated leadership
Camp Humphrey, where we taught stem concepts to 4th graders. We were teaching catapult, windmill, and circuit, I volunteered to be the leader of our circuit class. we taught them about electricity, current, LEDs, and conductivity. we ran into mishap where the leds of parallel circuits wouldn’t work. the biggest takeaway from this experience is that you need to have a good team behind the works. make sure everyone is on the same page, and everyone is communicating effectively. the minute a circuit wouldn’t work, they were calling my name and left and right and you gotta be able to think on the spot and adapt when things go wrong.
strength and weakness
Strength is that I try to be very aware about myself and my own areas of strengths and weaknesses so that I’m constantly trying to improve and able to be transparent with my team on mistakes and discussing how I overcame it or plan to.
when things get super busy, I'm not great at self enforcing a cut off for myself on how long I work or how many things I take on. It can lead to burn out, so I try to call it out when I see it, but I'm not as quick to recognize it as I could be.
