Pedestrians
Always yield in crosswalks (marked or unmarked)
Be alert for them in school zones, residential areas, and intersections
Stop when a school crossing guard or signal indicates
Use extra caution at night or at low visibility
Children
Can be unpredictable
Slow down near schools, parks, and residential neighborhoods
Stop when a school bus displays flashing red lights and an extended stop arm
Motorcycles
Harder to see and may swerve or stop faster
Allow them a full lane
Signal lane changes and turns well in advance
Be extra cautious at left turns and intersections
Autocycles
Drivers must wear seatbelts
Treated like motorcycles in traffic laws
Bicyclists
Same rights and responsibilities as drivers
Must:
Yield when turning
Keep at least 3 feet of space when passing
Not drive or park in bike lanes
May ride on roads, shoulders, marked lanes
Be cautious of hand signals and sudden movements
Scooters and Mopeds
Must follow traffic rules
May not be allowed on some roads with high speed limits
Must use appropriate signals and safety gear
Large Vehicles
Have blind spots, longer stopping distance, and wider turns
Avoid “no zones” (blind spots on all four sides)
Give extra space when merging, stopping, passing
Disabled Vehicles
Slow down or move over for vehicles with hazard lights or emergency triangles
Be cautious of people exiting or working near the vehicle
Low Speed Vehicles
Golf carts, electric vehicles
Only allowed on roads with speed limits under 35 mph
Slow moving vehicles
Marked with orange triangle
Includes farm equipment and animal-drawn vehicles
Only pass when safe and legal
