Center of Gravity (COG)
The point where the weight acts downward, is evenly distributed, and balanced, and concentrated
Center of Mass (COM)
The point that represents the average position of mass in an object, which is based on mass.
Gravity
The force that attracts two bodies towards each other, acting downward in this context.
Stability
The capacity of an object to return to equilibrium after being displaced.
Why do we care about stability?
performance accuracy
Factors affecting Stability
Include height of the center of gravity, size of the base of support, and weight of the object.
Equilibrium
A state where all forces and torques acting on an object are balanced.
COG of an object affects
Stability
Lower COG means
more stability
