Convivence Sample

Sample that is acquired by selecting those that are easy to reach

Voluntary Response Sample

Sample that is obtained by those who self-select or choose to participate

SRS (Simple Random Sample)

Sample where every group of a given side has an equal chance of being chosen

Stratified Random Sample

Sample where first the population is divided into groups based on a shared characteristic (strata); an SRS from each is then taken to complete sample

Systematic Sample

Sample where the population is in some kind of order—every nth entity is selected starting at a random spot

Sampling with Replacement

Occurs when an item or subject can be selected more than once from the population

Sampling without Replacement

Occurs when an item or subject can be selected only once from the population

Cluster Sample

A sample where population is divided into groups based on close proximity
