Auditory Modality
The delivery of information through sound, including spoken instructions, verbal explanations, and auditory cues.
Visual Modality
The delivery of information through sight, including printed text, diagrams, charts, or images.
Tactile Modality
The delivery of information through touch, such as feeling textures, manipulating objects, or tracing letters.
Kinesthetic Modality
The delivery of information through movement or physical activity.
Multisensory Approach
An instructional method that presents information through multiple sensory channels (seeing, hearing, touching, etc.) to enhance learning.
Reception
The initial stage of learning where information is first received through sensory modalities.
Perception
The process of organizing and interpreting incoming information.
Association or Organization
Relating new information to existing knowledge and giving it meaning.
Memory
The process of storing and retrieving information, supporting learning by linking new concepts to prior knowledge.
Multiprocess Tests
Tests that include a variety of subtests designed to measure multiple perceptual and cognitive abilities.
