A small computer component that processes data, developed by Dr. Ted Hoff in 1971.

Desktop Computer

A general-purpose computer that fits on or under a desk.

Laptop

A mobile computer that is portable and can be used on the go.

Application Software

Software that performs specific tasks, like word processing.

System Software

Software that controls the overall operations of a computer, such as an operating system.

Input Devices

Devices used to send data to the CPU, such as keyboards and mice.

Output Devices

Devices that display processed data, such as monitors and printers.

Storage Devices

Devices that store data permanently, like hard drives and flash drives.

Central Processing Unit (CPU)

The brain of the computer, processing data from input devices.

Mail Merge

A function that automates the creation of personalized documents.

Network System

A system that connects multiple computers to share data and resources.

Intranet

A private network used within an organization.

Extranet

An intranet with access for external users.

Internet

The largest and most extensive network worldwide.
