Shot taken as a result of a violation. The opposing team at the site of the infraction takes the free hit. A score cannot be the result of a free hit. All other players must be at least 5 yards away from the player taking the free hit. Another player must touch the puck after a free hit before the player taking the free hit is allowed to play it again.

Shot awarded to the offense when the defense commits a violation in
the crease. A forward at the foul line takes the shot. Only the goalie can defend
the shot. As soon as contact is made by the forward the puck is live and in play.
