Eschatology
The study of the end times and the final events in history, particularly related to the second coming of Christ.
Intermediate State
The period after physical death and before the final resurrection, where the soul is believed to exist in a conscious state.
The Abrahamic Covenant
A sacred agreement where God promised Abraham that his descendants would become a great nation and be a source of blessings to the world.
Transubstantiation
The Roman Catholic doctrine that, during the Eucharist, the bread and wine become the actual body and blood of Christ.
Consubstantiation
Martin Luther's view that the substance of Christ’s body coexists with the substance of the bread and wine in the Eucharist.
Rapture
The belief in a future event when believers in Christ will be taken up to meet the Lord in the air at his second coming.
Millennium
A literal or symbolic 1000-year reign of Christ, as described in the Book of Revelation.
Great White Throne Judgment
The final judgment of all people, where those not written in the Book of Life are cast into the lake of fire.
New Covenant
The new agreement established by Christ, replacing the Old Covenant, emphasizing grace and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Eternal State
The final existence of believers in new heaven and new earth, marked by the absence of sin, death, and suffering.
