I’m an investigator with the Federal Beurau fo Investigation (FBI).

I am 45 years old.
How long have you been with the bureau?
I’ve been with the bureau since I was 22 years old.
What could you say about yourself (in terms of your time at the FBI)?
I guess you could say that I’m a lifer.
Would you normally be involved in this case?
I would not normally be brought into what could be a state crime,but the local police deparment asked the FBI to investigate this crime.
Why were you asked to investigate this crime?
Apparently, there are few people in Martin’s Landing who don’t have ties to people involved in the Steeped in Mystery show and the events that led to th eincident that brought me here.
What were you callled to investigate?
A death.
When were you called to investigate?
Two days after the death.
Is it clear if it’s a murder?
It’s unclear whether it was a murder which is why I am here.
Was the body still on the scene when you started investigating?
The body had already been taken away for autopost and the crime scene had been secured by the local police department.
When did you arrive at Martin’s Landing?
I arrived at Martin’s Landing on August 28th, 2025.
What did you first arrange for your investigation?
I had arranged to meet the investigation officer of the Martin’s Landing Police Department at the crime scene.
Did you meet with the investigating officer?
No, I met with the Martin’s Landing police chief.
Who is the Martin’s Landing police chief?
Rosa Flores.
What did Rosa Flores tell you?
She told me this was a sensitive matter in the community.
Who was the point person in this case?
Chief Rosa Flores.
Why was Chief Rosa Flores the point person?
She said “everyone in town is connected to this case, in some way",” which led her to decide to be the point person.
What was the quality of the job done by the police department?
The police department had done a thorough job of investigating the crime scene and the information was helpful.

Did Chief Flores mention anything about any testing?
Chief Flores told me that both the teacup and the saucer had been sent for fingerprint testing. (Stopped at P5)
