Killed Vaccine
Made from killed antigens; cannot revert to virulence; examples include Feline Leukemia and Rabies.
Modified Live Vaccine
Made from weakened antigens; can potentially revert to virulence; sensitive to heat; examples include Calicivirus.
Recombinant Vaccine
Uses specific proteins to trigger immunity; cannot revert to virulence; less likely to cause allergic reactions.

Final stage of development of a worm, implying sexual maturity.
Cestode
A tapeworm; typically flat and segmented.
Helminth
A parasitic worm, including roundworms, tapeworms, and flukes.
Prepatent Period
The time between infection and when eggs show up in feces.
Visceral Larva Migrans
Migration of parasite larvae in a living host.
Demodex spp.
Mites that live on the skin and can cause skin infections.
EIPH (Exercise-Induced Pulmonary Hemorrhage)
A condition where bleeding occurs in a horse's lungs during intense exercise.
MBD (Metabolic Bone Disease)
A condition in reptiles caused by poor calcium metabolism, leading to broken or deformed bones.
Anthelmintic
A medication used to kill internal parasites.
Sarcoptic Mange
A skin condition caused by Scabies mites in animals, leading to itching and inflammation.
