Device Drivers

Emulates a piece of hardware and essentially tricking the computer

Software that manages hardware devices and allows users to run applications

Propriety Software

Non-free computer software wherein the publisher retains intellectual property right of the source code, but sometimes patent rights

Open-Source Software

Makes the source code of the software freely available and users are permitted to study, change, and distribute the software
