Permanent magnet
always magnetic.
Induced magnet
becomes magnetic in a field.
Electromagnet
coil with current that produces a magnetic field
Motor effect
force on a current in a magnetic field
F
F=BIL — force on a wire
Transformers
Transformers: Vp/Vs=Np/Ns
idek
VpIp=VsIs — (if 100% efficient)
How does increasing current affect the force on a wire in a magnetic field?
From F=BILF = BILF=BIL: if current (I) increases, force (F) increases proportionally, assuming B and L are constant.
✅ Force increases.
A transformer has 1000 turns on primary and 200 on secondary. If input is 240 V, what is the output voltage?
Vp/Vs=Np/Ns→240/Vs=1000/200 240/Vs=5→Vs=240/5=48 V
