Patellar Reflex
The sensory neuron detecting the strike on the patellar tendon will send the impulse along the sensory axons that will then enter the CNS in the dorsal root of the peripheral nerve and will make a single synapse with a motor neuron within the central gray matter which will then leave the CNS in the ventral root of the spinal nerve. This will then cause the quadricep muscle to contract, extending the leg ipsilaterally
