Esther was a beautiful Jewish woman living in Susa, the citadel, with her cousin, Mordecai. She was an orphan and her family was carried way as captives with Jeconiah, King of Judah
Call to Adventure
Esther was taken to the King Ahasuerus's palace to compete to become the next queen of the Persian Empire

Esther does not have a choice, no refusal

Crossing the Treshold
Esther goes to see the king taking only the item that Hegai told her to take. She wins his favor, and she is made queen.

Enemy- Haman, descendent of the Amalekites
Test- Haman's plan to annihilate the Jews
Allies- The eunuchs, Jews in Susa praying for Esther
Approach
Esther asks Mordecai and all the Jews in Susa to hold a 3 day fast on her behalf. She and her young woman do the same.
Ordeal or Death/ Rebirth
Esther enters unannounced and uninvited to see the king.

Road Back
Mordecai and Esther write a new edict allowing the Jewish people to defend themselves. Throughout the Persian empire the Jews kill their enemies
Growth/Atonement
Esther and Mordecai initiate the Feast of Purim to commemorate their salvation, and it is established an official Jewish holiday
Reward
Esther 10- Esther and Mordecai continue to live in their positions in the Persian empire, under the king. Esther remains queen, and Mordecai becomes second in command to the king.
