First Amendment

Freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition 

Second Amendment

Protects the rights of individuals to keep and bear arms

Prohibits the quartering of soldiers in private homes without the owner’s consent, except during wartime

Fourth Amendment

Protects individuals from unreasonable searches

Fifth Amendment

The right to remain silent (against self-incrimination)

Sixth Amendment

Ensures the right to a fair and speedy trial by an impartial jury

Seventh Amendment

The right to a trial by jury in civil cases involving disputes over property or money exceeding a certain value

Eighth Amendment

Prohibits the government from imposing excessive bail, fines, or cruel and unusual punishments

Ninth Amendment

Certain rights in the Constitution shall not be construed to deny any other rights retained by the people

Tenth Amendment

Affirms the principle of federalism by reserving powers not delegated to the federal government to the states or to the people
