User-Contributed Content
Content created and updated by multiple users for many users (reputation system and native advertising)
Reputation System
a mechanism that evaluates and displays the credibility or trustworthiness of users based on their contributions and interactions.
For example:
On platforms like eBay or Amazon, sellers and buyers receive ratings based on past transactions
On forums or Q&A sites, users earn points or badges for helpful answers.
Native Advertising
Paid content that matches the form and function of the platform where it appears.
Unlike traditional ads, native ads blend seamlessly with the surrounding content, making them feel less intrusive.
Examples include:
Sponsored articles on news websites that look like regular editorial content.
Promoted posts on social media that resemble organic posts.

Knowledge Management
Involves capturing, classifying, evaluating,retrieving, and sharing information assets in a way that providescontext for effective decisions and actions
Explicit Knowledge
Consists of anythingthat can be documented, achieved, andcodified, often with the help of IT.
Tacit Knowledge
Knowledge contained within individuals' minds. Hard to write down.
Crowdsourcing
Utilizing the wisdom of the crowd for collaborative input.
Social Media
Websites that depend on user participation and content contribution.
Social Networking
Expanding business and social contacts through personal networks.
Social Network: An application that connects people by matchingprofile information
Tags
Specific keywords or phrases incorporated intowebsite content for means of classification ortaxonomy
Social Tagging
This is the practice of users collectively adding tags to content. Community driven way to organize info.
Folksonomy
A dictionary of words for classification via user-generated tags. Instead of a formal taxonomy created by experts, folksonomy emerges from the tags people commonly use.
E.g. for cellular phone: Cell, Iphone, Cellular Phone, BlackBerry, Mobile Phone
Social Bookmarking
A collaborative version of bookmarking where users share and organize bookmarks online. Services like Pinterest allow this.
Blog
An online journal with posts that can include comments, graphics, and videos.
Wiki
A collaborative webpage allowing users to add, edit, remove, and organize content.
Network Effect
The more participants in a network, the more beneficial it becomes for each user.
As more users join and contribute, the platform becomes richer in content, connections, and opportunities, making it more valuable for everyone.
Mashup
A web application that combines content from multiple sources.

The ability to purchase goods and services via wireless devices.
Semantic Web
A component of Web 2.0 that allows for better computer understanding of data.
