Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of press, freedom to petition for the redress of grievances and the right to peacefully assemble
Give an example of how these 5 things are protected
religion- u can freely go to any church
speech - u can give your opinion about laws without being arrested
press - a newspaper can be published that exposes the gov’t
assemble - people can peacefully protest about police reform
petition - u can write to your senator to petition the publish of a law or a change an old one
what does amendment 2 give u the right to do
Keep and bear arms with certain limits to people who might be crazy or have a bad history

yes, there is an age limit, certain guns are illegal, need to wait 7 days to pick up ur firearm, and mental stability.
what does amendment 3 say
during a time of peace, the gov’t or anybody can force you to quarter soldiers in your house only if there is a time of war or national conflict.
do u need to worr about what is in amendment 3 today practically asking?
most likely not because we aren’t at war and it only can be switch during a time of war or huge conflict.
what 2 things according to amendment 4 do the police need to enter your home?
they need probable cause and then a search warrant signed by a judge with all the correct personal information for the owner of the house.
what 2 things must be clearly stated in the search warrant?
where and what they are allowed to search for.
what three things can you not be deprived of without due process of thelaw according to amendment 5?
life, liberty and property under due process of the law
what does double Jeopardy mean?
it means nobody can be convicted a second time for the same crime.
what 5 rights do you have according to amendment 6?
the right to face your accuser, be informed of your charges, a lawyer, speedy public trial, the right to call witnesses and to have your trial in the same state and district where the alleged crime took place.
according to amendment 7, if the amount in dispute is more than $20 what can either side in a case ask for?
a trial by jury
in amendment 8 what 3 things are prevented?
no unusual fines, bails and no cruel and unusual crime.
what does bail mean, what is it used for?
it is money or something of value to someone, who pays the court to get out of jail while they wait for their trial.
do you get your bail back if you return on time for your appointed court date?
yes but if you are late or absent that they take your bail.

the states and the people
