Racial Subjectivism

The belief that racial differences justify treating some races better or worse and is based on stereotypes and assumptions

Cultural Intolerance

Discrimination based on people's cultural backgrounds.

Racialism

The belief that humanity is divided into distinct races.

Black-White Binary

Viewing racial issues strictly through a black and white lens, marginalizing other minorities.

its in some races to be more athletic- black ppl in basketball are good cuz they were bred during slave times to be more strong and resilient, or theyre just more primitive

explanations for dominance in sports

culture- basketball was easier for people in poorer communities to take up since all that was needed was a ball, and it was more accessible

social- other sports were “off limits” in past and were not accessible. ex. swimming, black people were unable to go to pools cuz of segregation, so they could not have even swam as a sport if they wanted to.

why IQ tests arent good ways to measure intelligence of racial groups

intelligent quotient, measures thinking skills, not natural intelligence. doesnt take into account education, environment, or opportunities often biased towards certain racial groups

Rectificatory Justice

Justice aimed at correcting past wrongs and injustices.

extending justice already applied to some people to new groups of people or individuals

Affirmative Action

Policies that help racial minorities receive fair treatment in employment and education.
