Function: Supports body, facilitates movement, protects internal organs, and stores minerals.

Muscular System

Structure: skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscles.

Function: allows man

Nervous System

Structure: Brain, spinal cord, nerves, sensory receptors

Function: Fast acting, control system, responds to internal changes, uses electrical signals

Endocrine system

Structure: Pineal Gland, Pituitary Gland, Thyroid Gland, Thymes, Adrenal Glands, Pancreas, Testes, Ovaries

Function: Glands secrete hormones that regulate the bodily processes

Cardiovascular system

Structure: Heart & blood vessels

Function: Delivers oxygen & nutrients to body tissues

Lymphatic System

Structure: Thoracic duct, Lymph nodes, Lymphatic vessels

Function: Houses white blood cells involved in immunity, picks up fluid leaked from blood, filters it, and returns it to the blood

Immune System

Structure: Lymphocytes, Macrophages, Antibodies

Function: Protects body by destroying pathogen, foreign substances, and tumor cells

Respiratory System

Structure: Pharynx, Larynx, Trachea, Bronchi, Bronchioles, Alveoli

Function: Gaseous exchange between body & environment

Digestive System

Structure: Esophagus, Stomach, Small intestine, Large intestine, rectum, anus

Function: Breaks down food in absorbable units and excretes indigestible waste

Urinary System

Structure: Kidneys, Ureter, Urinary bladder, Urethra

Function: Elimination/execration of nitrogenous waste: Regulates water, electrolytes, and pH balance of body
