Energy
The capacity to produce a change, enabling movement, heat release, or emission of rays.
Useful form of energy
Forms of energy that humans can utilize to meet their needs.
Mechanical energy
Energy derived from the motion of an object or its position in space.
Thermal energy
Energy that comes from the agitation of particles in matter, often produced through combustion.
Luminous energy
Energy that is carried by light, often transformed from electrical energy.
Electrical energy
Energy associated with the movement of electricity, convertible into various other energy forms.
Motor
A system that transforms energy from electricity, combustible sources, or batteries into thermal or mechanical energy.
Energy transformation
The conversion of one form of energy into another.
Solar energy
Energy harnessed from the sun, transformed into electricity using photovoltaic panels or heat using thermal solar panels.
Wind energy
Energy derived from wind, ultimately converted into electrical energy via turbines.
Hydraulic energy
Energy from the motion of water, converted into other forms of energy in techniques such as hydroelectric power.
Biomass
Organic materials, like wood or peat, that produce thermal energy when burned.
Fossil energy
Energy derived from oil, coal, and natural gas, which is transformed into thermal energy through combustion.
Nuclear energy
Energy produced in nuclear power plants, transformed into thermal, mechanical, and electrical energy.
