define visual illusion
an illusion created by a misinterpretation (distortion or mistake) of the reality of a visual stimulus
define perceptual constancy
the minds ability percieve a visual stimulus as remaining constant even though the visual infromation sent to the brain about the object shows changes in shape, size, brightness and oreinetaion
define bistable perception
the ability to spontanoeuly switch between different interpretations of the same ambigous visual stimulus
