Liquid

Particles are mobile therefore there is a fixed volume but no fixed shape

Gas

There are weak forces of attraction between particles which means they can move more freely. Thus they have neither fixed shape nor volume.

Sublimation

A direct change of state from solid to gas with no liquid phase

Deposition

A direct change of state from gas to solid with no liquid phase.

Physical Changes

Consists of state changes & no new substances are produced

Chemical Changes

Result in the formation of a new chemical substances. In this reaction the atoms in the reactant are rearranged to form new products

Law of Conservation of Mass
