multiple anomalies that can result from an initial single anomaly

Malformation

structure/tissue is abnormal from the beginning

Deformation

initial development is normal, but is changed in shape/position due to something else

Disruption

Structure/tissue begins normally but develops abnormally or atrophies due to extrinsic, instrictic, or vascular insult

Dysplasia

Anomaly that is a result of abnormal cell development or organization
