Volume
The amount of space an object occupies; can be expressed in liters for liquids or in cubic length units for solids.
Liter
A unit of volume used to measure liquids.
Cubic length unit
A unit of volume expressed as a length cubed, used for solids (e.g., m^3).
Velocity
The rate at which distance changes with time; the relationship between time and distance.
Density
Mass per unit volume.
Dimensional analysis
A method to organize and perform unit conversions by multiplying by conversion factors.
Dozen
A unit equal to 12 items; 3 dozen equals 36.
Conversion factor
A ratio used to convert from one unit to another in dimensional analysis.
Prefix
A short string added to a unit to denote a multiple or fraction of that unit in the metric system.
Mega
Prefix meaning 1,000,000 (10^6).
