What is Confirmation Bias?
The tendency to see things that confirm our already held beliefs.
Give an example of Confirmation Bias.
Believing that no one is friendly in the hallway despite being greeted by 50 people, and focusing only on the one person who didn't say hi.
How does Confirmation Bias affect expectations?
It can cause people to expect patterns or outcomes based on prior beliefs, like expecting a coin flip to show a certain pattern again.
What can happen when a successful team experiences Confirmation Bias?
They may take their previous victories for granted and not train as hard, potentially leading to losses.
What might influence how we conclude that a claim is factual?
Research and the tendency to look for evidence that supports our existing beliefs.
