Origin: Femur: shaft

Action: Extends the knee

Rectus Femoris
Origin: STRAIGHT HEAD: hip bone: anterior inferior iliac spine. OBLIQUE HEAD: Hip bone: acetabulum

Origin: long head: hip: ischial tuberosity. Short head: femur: linea aspera
Insertion: Fibula: head

Innervation: Sciatic nerve -tibial brach (long head); Common peroneal (short head)

Semitendinosus
Origin: Hip: ischial tuberosity
Insertion: Tibia
Action: flexes the knee and extends the hip
Innervation: Tibial branch of the sciatic nerve

Semimembranosus
Origin: hip: ischial tuberosity
Insertion: Tibia
Action: Flexes the knee and extends at the hip
Innervation: Tibial branch of sciatic nerve

Insertion: Femur: linea aspera.
Action: Adducts the hip

Origin: Hip: pubis

Action: Adducts and medially rotates thigh, flexes hip
Innervation: Obturator nerve

Adductor Brevis
Origin: Hip: pubiss
Insertion: Femur: line aspera.
Action: Adducts and medially rotates thigh, flexes hip
Innervation: Obturator nerve

Gracilis
Origin: Hip bone: pubis.
Insertion: Tibia
Action: Adducts and medially rotates thigh, flexes hip
Innervation: Obturator nerve

Pectineus
Origin: Hip bone: Pubis
