Effective Communication
A complex process aimed at informing, generating understanding in the counterpart, and inducing a response from the receiver.
Message
The idea or image that is to be transmitted, translated into symbols, words, or graphics.
Encoding
The process of converting a message into symbols, words, or graphics for transmission.
Channel
The medium through which a message is transmitted, such as air, technology, print, or physical means.
Receiver
The individual who receives and decodes the message.
Decoding
The process by which the receiver interprets or makes sense of the received message.
Feedback
The response from the receiver that indicates whether they accept and will act on the information received.
Transactional Analysis
A framework for understanding communication that involves analyzing the interactions and relationships between individuals.
Assertiveness
The quality of being self-assured and confident without being aggressive, crucial for effective communication.
Tolerance for Diversity
The ability to respect and accept diverse perspectives and backgrounds in interpersonal interactions.
