who was Ho Chi Minh?
Ho Chi Minh was the leader of the Viet Minh and the North Vietnam

his aims were to unify Vietnam under communism, this was strengthened when Diem refused to hold elections for unification so Ho Chi Minh got to working on his polices which were the NLF and string communist government

What was the NLF?
this was organised by Ho Chi Minh, he wanted to support the communist in South Vietnam in order to get that unite communists - it bought together all the communists to oppose Diem

In south Vietnam - Diem was promoting Catholics and which was reminiscent of French imperialism and that helped the creation of the NLF as it isolated people

Their political manifesto was the 10-point program that had a range of views that appealed to intellectuals, students, mc and wc

it was introduced through operation sunrise, it aimed to create stockades which would house south Vietnamese peasants to isolate them from the viet cong (viet minh)

but this failed because things were not given out properly and it just made people side with the Vietcong
