Self Efficacy
The sense of being able to deal effectively with a particular task and believe they can successfully complete it.
Self Regulation
The process people use to activate and sustain their thoughts, attention, behaviours, and emotions in order to reach goals.
Staying focused.
Monitor progress.
Adjust strategies.
Self Determination
A framework for understanding human motivation and personality which posits that individuals are driven by an innate need to grow and gain mastery.
Competence: need to feel effective and capable of mastering tasks.
Autonomy: desire to feel in control of ones own actions, behaviours, and destiny.
Relatedness: need to feel a sense of belonging, connection, and security with others.
Attribution Theory
How an individuals explanations, justifications, and excuses influence their motivation and emotion. It is how learners interpret why something happened, which influences how they feel and what they do next.
Locus: location of the cause, which can be internal or external.
Internal: inside an individual.
External: outside an individual.
Stability: whether the cause of the event is the same across time and in different situations.
Stable: unlikely to change.
Unstable: can change.
Controllability: whether the person can control the cause.
Controllable: can change.
Uncontrollable: cannot change.

A psychological state in which individuals become fully absorbed in an activity, experiencing optimal engagement and enjoyment, often referred to as being “in the zone”. It usually occurs during challenging activities that stretch ones skills, leading to a peak in performance and a sense of fulfillment.
