Inescapable logical consequence of a proposition, which is enforced by lexical meanings (implicazioni logica)

How is entailment determined by?

By semantic relationships between terms describing:

• Incompatibility

• Complementarity

• Equivalence

• Inclusion

What's Incompatibility?

The relationship holding between polar antonyms

What's complementarity?

The relationship holding between relational antonyms. Relational antonyms descrube/report the same situation/event, but from different perspectives

What's equivalence?

The relationship holding between synonymic expressions

What's hypernymy-hyponymy?

The relationship of inclusion holding between expressions relevant to the same domain, but differing in scope

What's a metaphor?

Words are used to communicate meanings that are different from their literal ones

How is a conceptual metaphor built?

It's an analogy between a source domain (= a term of comparison) and a target domain (= what is being talked about)
