childhood (3-8)

  • children continue to grow at a steady rate at childhood, but at a slower rate than in infancy, with boys being slighter taller than girls

  • development - children develop immensely through play. teaches them to solve problems, develop memory and become sociolable

  • most skills used in childhood include hand-eye coordination, hand foot, movement ect

adolescence (9-18)

  • adolescents continue to grow in height / weight. full height is achieved during this life stage

  • motor skills improve further and become increasingly specialised in their skills

  • puberty : testosterone for boys and oestrogen for girls which triggers growth of sexual organs

  • primary sexual characteristics are present at birth but develop during puberty

  • secondary characteristics develop during puberty (body hair for instance)

  • in early adulthood the human body reaches a stage if being fully grown

  • most people are at their physical peak

  • maturity - the stage of being fully developed

  • pregnancy - hormonal changes

  • perimenopause - women in 40s

  • menopause - reproductive system shuts down and a women is no longer capable of bearing children

later adulthood (65+)

  • little physical improvement seen during later adulthood, though regular exercise and health care throughout adulthood can slow down many edicts if ageing

  • skin, hair, organs, senses, mobility, strength, immunity, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, height, heat control can change or deteriorate

  • diseases and conditions can affect your hearth, such as parkinson’s and alzheimer’s
