Mid-segment: segment that connects the midpoints of two sides of a triangle

Hinge Theorem

1. If two pairs/sets in one ∆ are congruent to the corresponding sides in another ∆

2. The included angles are not congruent

Then: the larger side is across from the larger angle

Converse of Hinge Thm.

1. If two pairs/sets in one ∆ are congruent to the corresponding sides in another ∆

2. The third side of one ∆ is larger than the third side of another triangle

Then: the larger angle is across from the larger side
