Evidence
Support for the reasons offered that helps audiences to accept claims; also called data, grounds, or support.
Quantitative Evidence
Evidence expressed as numbers; data that can be measured or counted
Qualitative Evidence
Descriptive, non-numerical data from observations, experiences, opinions, or interpretations
Argument by example
Supporting a claim by providing specific instances or examples to illustrate the point and demonstrate a broader principle.
Argument by Analogy
Using a comparison between similar things to infer that they are alike in another respect, supporting a conclusion with shared characteristics.
Authority
An argument from authority; using the opinion of an authority figure as evidence to support a claim.
Casual Argument
An argument that establishes a cause-and-effect relationship between two events or conditions; explains why something happened.
Impact
Reasoning that explains why the evidence supports the claim and why it matters; the analysis linking evidence to the argument.
