Weaning
The removal of milk from the diet of an animal; may involve removing the offspring from the dam.
Blind Spot
Small region where an animal's field of vision is blocked.
Flight Zone
a circle surrounding the animal, within its field of vision, that when entered causes it to flee.
Point of Balance
a point, typically at the shoulder, within the flight zone that determines the direction the animal will move.

disease that can be passed from animals to humans, and vice versa.

any step taken to minimize disease transmission, both inside and outside a production facility.

triggers antibody production against a specific pathogen, protecting the animal from future infection

first milk produced by a female after birthing, rich in antibodies
Withdrawal period
the period of time between when the last dosage of a drug was given and when that animal or milk from that animal could be used for human consumption
