Why are you looking for a new job?

I am looking for a new role because I’m looking for new opportunities. So when I came across the company one of the things I looked for was not only a new challenge but team support and somewhere where I can grow, not only as a security guard, but as a person

2
New cards

Why Should we hire you?

You should hire me because I bring proven experience as a Security Supervisor, where I handled patrols, emergency responses, and detailed incident reporting. I have also remained loyal at the companies I have worked at as I stayed for at least 2 years and pride myself on strong customer service that brings a welcoming environment to the places I've worked.

I see myself here in 5 years hopefully I’ve proven myself to be promoted to Account Manager or higher

Tell me about yourself?

As you guys know my name is Styvenson. I have over 7 years of working experience in general and 2 years of security experience. At mainly every job I have  worked at I have been to be promoted at least once. I decided to go to college because I wanted to obtain valuable skills that would work in many industries so I felt accounting and information systems would be a best fit. For the future my current goal is to be an official manager at the company or be somewhere in management.

What is your weakness?

I would say asking for help. I am the type of person that is always trying to figure everything out even when I completely don’t know. I am like this because when leading a team you have to show the people that work with you need to progress through your problems and not succumb to them.

6
New cards

Do you have any questions for us?

What are the next steps in the hiring process? What is the process like when it comes to being promoted in the company? As a Supervisor how would I exceed expectations compared to those before me?

7
New cards

What are your strengths?

I would say remaining calm under pressure then talk about the fire alarm and boil situation.

8
New cards

How do you work under pressure?

I found the key to managing pressure is knowing what needs to be done first, what can wait if things are slipping check in with my manager or people above to get me back on track

Can you name a challenge that you faced that was difficult?

A challenge I would say that was most difficult when I was trusted to work at Northeast most premium sites as a Supervisor which was Millennium Tower. There are a bunch of rich adults and kids that live there. There was a resident who really didn’t like a guard and would constantly harass him and call him names. What made it difficult was the guard wanted to retaliate because he would feel disrespected especially since he was full time and saw him everyday. The way I resolved this issue was every time the guard felt it difficult to keep his emotions in check I would tell him to call me immediately and let me handle the situation and since I was friendly with most residents I would try to keep the resident from interacting with one of the guards.

What would you say is your biggest adaptability or change?

I would say my biggest adaptability was becoming a Supervisor at Northeast itself, I had to be more vocal, I had to set the tone, I had to be a leader, and I had to do it quickly because my Manager relied on me and what made it possible was my ability to learn from my mistakes during the position and improve on them.

11
New cards

Why are you Unique for this role?

I would say I am unique for the role because of how approachable I am. This leads to trustworthiness in the company and through are the building blocks for building a good team because we can be honest with each other to improve as a security team

How do you handle conflict at work?

When there is a conflict I would handle it with empathy to understand that person's point of view. This keeps the situation between us calm and makes them feel like they are being heard. This also makes it easier to come to an agreement or a compromise.

Tell about a time where you demonstrated leadership at work?

A time where I demonstrated leadership was last year. My Manager had let go of multiple employees and needed coverage. The company has told him to have floaters come, but when I was made aware and to keep efficiency and the prestige of our site I decided to cover multiple doubles everyday until my manager was able to hire new candidates for the position.

14
New cards

How did you hear about us?

In terms of the company I had an interest for several months and I have been on the lookout for Supervisor roles  to be advertised. I spoke with Tanya and she has kept me updated as soon as positions were available.

15
New cards

What is your ideal work environment?

My ideal work environment is positive, is one where everyone in the team seeks to continually grow and improve and if we have problems we can be honest and communicate with each other and work out our problems.

16
New cards

How would other people describe you?

My friends and Co-workers would describe me as someone who is driven to get results, but also empathic if someone needed assistance even on short notice.

17

What is your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement was that while I was Supervisor due to my tactics in communicating with my group and empathy with my group the turnover rate of employees was much lower than any other supervisor’s shift at my site.

18

Name a time where you failed?

In a past security job, I once tried to handle a suspicious incident on my own instead of calling for backup. It slowed things down and taught me that even though I like solving problems independently, in security you have to balance that with teamwork. Now I still take initiative, but I call for support when it keeps everyone safer

19
New cards

What did you dislike about your previous job?

I didn’t dislike the job. The main challenge was that growth into management roles moved very slowly. I’m motivated to advance based on my performance, so I’m looking for a place where development and progression are more accessible
