si quae non nupta mulier domum suam patefecerit omnium cupiditati

If any woman who is not married has opened her home to the desire of all men

palamque sese in meretricia vita collocarit,

and has openly set herself in the life of a whore,

virorum alienissimorum conviviis uti instituerit,

has planned to take advantage of dinner-parties with men totally unknown,

si hoc in urbe, si in hortis, si in Baiarum illa celebritate faciat,

if she does this in the city, if she does this in the gardens, if she does this in that crowd at Baiae,

si denique ita sese gerat non incessu solum, sed ornatu atque comitatu,

if finally she conducts herself this way not only in her gait, but also in her adornment and her company,

non flagrantia oculorum, non libertate sermonum, sed etiam complexu, osculatione, actis, navigatione, conviviis,

not only the passion of her looks, the freedom of her speech, but also in her embrace, her kisses, her beach-parties, her boat-parties, her banquets,

ut non solum meretrix, sed etiam proterva meretrix procaxque videatur:

she appears to be not only a prostitute, but also a shameless and wanton prostitute:
