What does المضارع (al-Muḍāriʿ), the imperfect tense in Arabic, describe?
It describes actions that are ongoing, habitual, or repeated in the present, or actions that will happen in the future. It contrasts with the perfect tense (الماضي - al-Māḍī), which describes completed actions.
How is the specific subject (person, gender, number) and tense of a verb indicated in Arabic المضارع (imperfect tense)?
By adding specific prefixes and/or suffixes to the verb's root letters. These affixes change depending on whether the subject is first, second, or third person, and whether it is singular, dual, or plural, masculine or feminine.
