What is step one of the practical?
Pour sulfuric acid into a beaker and gently heat using a Bunsen burner.

Add copper carbonate to the sulfuric acid and stir.

Keep adding copper carbonate until it’s in excess, as indicated by the remaining solid.

Use filter paper and a funnel to remove excess copper carbonate via filtration.

Pour the filtrate into an evaporating basin and heat to half the volume of water.

When crystals begin to form, remove the solution from the heat and leave it to crystalise slowly.

Pat the copper sulphate dry with a paper towel.
