how to set up practical of diffusion

get agar jelly and add sodium hydroxide in jelly to get a pink colour. And put it in a beaker of dilute hydrochloric acid.

Results of diffusion practical

The jelly will turn colourless because when the hydrochloric acid goes in the agar jelly, reacting with the alkali (sodium hydroxide) turning it colourless. This shows diffusion becuase the hydrochloric acid is going to a higher conerntration (acid outside the agar jelly) to lower concentration (inside the agar jelly).

get potatoes and but it in a sugar solution.

results of the osmosis practical

the potato size will decrease, because the water in the potato goes from a higher concentration (water inside the potato) to a lower concentration (water outside the sugar solution)
