Ecology of Human Performance (EHP)
A model by Winnie Dunn that emphasizes how occupational performance is influenced by person, context, and task within the natural environment.
PEOP model
Person-Environment-Occupation-Performance model that describes the transactional relationship between a person's abilities, their environment, and the occupations they engage in.
PEO model
Person-Environment-Occupation model that highlights the importance of context in determining occupational performance.
Occupational Adaptation (OA)
A model that focuses on the internal adaptive process, emphasizing the roles of the therapist and client in achieving occupational competence.
Therapeutic climate
The environment that defines the collaborative roles of the therapist and client during treatment.
Adaptive Subprocesses
The three processes of adaptation: generation, evaluation, and integration.
Function in Occupational Adaptation
The ability of a person to engage and perform occupations with a sense of mastery that meets societal and personal standards.
Dysfunction in Occupational Adaptation
When the demands of an occupation are too high for the person's capacity to adapt.
Components of Occupational Adaptation
Includes person (sensorimotor, cognitive, psychosocial), occupation environment (social, physical, cultural), and the occupational response.
Evaluation methods in Ecological Models
Includes various assessment tools, such as specific checklists and the sensory profile.
