define magnetic fields
an area around the magnet that can either push or pull magnets
when you put iron filling onto a paper and a magnet under it, what does is it trying to explain.
when the iron fillings go onto the paper that has a magnet underneath, the iron filling gets attracted by the magnet. Making the magnetic field lines visible.
define magnetise
means to turn an object into a magnet using a magnetic field
define soft magnets (given example)
magnets that are easy to magnetise, but lose their magnetism quick if there is no magnetic field anymore.
such as iron
define hard magnetics (given example)
hard to magnetise but once they magnetise it stays magnetise for a long time.
Such as steel
