Political ideology
The coherent set of values and beliefs about the purpose and scope of government held by groups and individuals
Liberal
Is defined as having political views that favor civil liberties, and the use of governmental power to promote social change
Libertarian
Defined as one who favors a free market economy and no governmental interference in personal liberties.
Conservative
A political ideology that tends to favor defense spending and school prayer and disapprove of social programs, abortion, affirmative action and a large, active government.
Political Elite
Persons with a disproportionate share of political power. C Wright Mills and his ideas are examples of this.
Populists
One who is liberal on economic issues and conservative on personal conduct issues
Communitarian
Social and political philosophy that emphasizes the importance of community in the functioning of political life
contemporary liberalism

libertarianism
