What is the formula for calculating a confidence interval?
Point Estimate + Margin of Error = PE + MOE.
How do you find the lower confidence interval?
Lower C.I. = PE - MOE.
What is the test statistic for dependent samples?
Test Statistic T = (ā - do) / (Sd / √n).
What does the Bartlett F Test assess?
It compares the variances of two or more groups.
What is the formula for the test statistic T in a pooled T-test?
T = (¯X1 - ¯X2) / sqrt[ (s1²/n1) + (s2²/n2) ].
When would you choose an independent samples (non-pooled T-Test)?
If the variances of the two groups are not assumed to be equal.
What is the null hypothesis symbolically written for the variance test comparing two departments?
Ho: σA² = σB².
What should be noted about calculators during the test?
Calculators are allowed, but show calculator commands and provide exact answers.
If the p-value is 0.179 and the significance level is 0.05, what decision should be made?
Fail to reject Ho.
What is the interpretation of rejecting the null hypothesis in context of the research study?
There is sufficient evidence to support the claim that the yield of oranges in Florida is more than in California.
How do you calculate the point estimate from a confidence interval?
P.E. = (Upper Limit + Lower Limit) / 2.
What does a 90% confidence interval for weight loss of (0.51, 0.69) suggest about the population mean?
We are 90% confident that the true population mean weight loss is between 0.51 and 0.69.
