Lithosphere
Crust and upper mantle; this layer is rigid and brittle
Asthenosphere
Middle mantle; comprised of melted rock (Silly Putty texture)
Mesosphere
The strong, lower part of the mantle between the asthenosphere and the outer core
Crust
Earth's outermost layer.
Mantle
The layer of hot, solid material between Earth's crust and core.
Outer core
The liquid layer of the Earth's core that lies beneath the mantle and surrounds the inner core. Made of Iron and nickel
Inner core
A dense sphere of solid iron and nickel at the center of Earth. (most dense layer)
Earth's interior in order from outermost to innermost
Crust, mantle, outer core, inner core
Earth's interior from innermost to outermost
Inner core, outer core, mantle, crust

Continental Crust
mostly granite, Thicker than oceanic crust and Less dense than oceanic crust (floats)
Oceanic Crust
made of basalt, more dense than continental crust, thinner than continental crust
Oceanic crust picture

Compositional layer
The material or elements which the layer is made of.
Mechanical Layer
The way in which the earth's layers behave physically, including aspects like rigidity and plasticity.
